Traveling to the OpenInfra Summit Europe
By Train
- The closest TGV (high-speed train) station is Massy-Palaiseau TGV. Direct trains from the biggest French cities are available.
- More connections, from France and other European countries, are available via the other train stations inside Paris (Gare du Nord, Gare de Lyon, etc.).
By Air
- Paris Orly is the closest airport, but both Orly (ORY) and Charles-de-Gaulle (CDG) are well connected to the venue area.
- Paris Beauvais (BVA) is another option, where low-cost airlines are operating - but be aware that this airport is significantly further away from Paris, and you will need to use a shuttle bus to reach Paris.
By Car
-
From Paris Porte d'Orléans or Porte d'Italie, take A6 freeway then exit on Saclay. Continue on D36 and turn left at the École polytechnique direction sign.
-
From Pont de Sèvre, N118 is also available, take the exit 8. Once at the roundabout, turn right to continue on D36 and turn left at the École polytechnique direction sign.
-
Consult the traffic status in real time.
-
Ecole Polytechnique Visitors parking located at 48.713971, 2.214638 (GPS position)
- The public car park “Monge” address is 2 rue Jean Pacilly, Palaiseau. See details, including pricing details.
By Taxi or Ride-hailing App
- Both taxis and ride-hailing apps, such as Uber and Bolt, are available.
- All taxis are clearly marked as such (sign on the car roof), use a meter, drivers must provide a receipt if asked, and should accept payment by credit card. At airports, beware of fake taxi drivers who may offer you a ride directly. Instead, just follow the signs to the official taxi stand. A flat rate for taxi airport rides exists, but it may apply only for rides to/from the Paris city center, not to/from École Polytechnique. See for details about taxi fares.
By Public Transport
-
Île-de-France mobilités (Official Public Transport App, get directions and purchase tickets)
-
École Polytechnique is located south of Paris. The local train RER B is the best option to reach this area.
-
RER B line serves CDG airport, Orly airport (via Orlyval automatic train) and Paris city center, including Gare du Nord train station. From other Paris train stations (like Gare de Lyon), take the subway (métro) to connect to the RER B.
-
You can get off at two different RER B stations:
-
RER B Massy Palaiseau station
- Take bus 91-06 (or 5154) from the station and stop at "Les Joncherettes", "Lozère" or "Laboratoires"
-
RER B Lozère station
- 15 to 20 min walk (itinerary not accessible for limited mobility as the walk has a 300-stair section)
-
-
-
Note: From Paris Orly airport, you also have the option to take bus 5154 directly at the airport. This may be the most direct and cheapest option, but journey time may be longer.
Tips for Using Public Transport
-
Typical fares:
- RER/Métro ticket: 2,50 €
- Bus ticket: 2 €
- Airport ticket: 13 €
No connection between RER and the bus is possible with a single ticket. Two different tickets are needed.
Tickets can either be purchased digitally on a smartphone or on a "Navigo Easy" for a 2 € charge for a physical card.
