Traveling to the OpenInfra Summit Europe
École Polytechnique is located 20 km south of Paris city center. Traffic can be tricky, so we recommend using public transportation as much as possible.
From Massy-Palaiseau train station
- We are planning to have a shuttle that will pick up attendees at Massy Palaiseau station in front of the Hilton Garden Inn Massy and take them directly to the entrance of the OpenInfra Summit (and drop attendees back off at the conclusion of the day). A schedule will be shared once the shuttle provider is finalized.
- Alternatively, you can take bus 91-06 (or 5154) from the station and stop at "Lozère" and there will be a 15-minute walk guided by a volunteer as well as signage.
By Public Transport
- The local train RER B is the best option to reach this area.
- We recommend getting off at the RER B ‘Massy Palaiseau’ station. Please note: The train and Google Maps will indicate the RER B ‘Lozère’ stop, but this itinerary is not accessible for limited mobility as the walk has an incline of over 300 stairs.
- Once at Massy-Palaiseau station, follow the instructions above.
- Île-de-France mobilités (Official Public Transport App, get directions and purchase tickets)
By TGV high-speed train
- Massy TGV station has daily direct trains from major cities in France, as well as Brussels.
- Once there, follow the instructions above.
From Paris CDG airport
- The RER B local train has trains that go directly from CDG terminals to Massy-Palaiseau station (one hour ride, every 15 minutes)
- Alternatively, the CDG T2 TGV station has a few trains every day that will go to Massy-Palaiseau TGV station (45-min ride, every 3 hours)
- Once there, follow the instructions above.
From Paris ORLY airport
- Bus 5154 will drop you directly to the “Lozère” bus stop on Polytechnique campus. This may be the most direct and cheapest option.
- Alternatively, you can take the Orlyval train, followed by the RER B to get to Massy-Palaiseau station, and follow the instructions above.
By Taxi or Ride-hailing App
- Both taxis and ride-hailing apps, such as Uber and Bolt, are available.
- The rideshare dropoff point at École Polytechnique is not at the OpenInfra Summit entrance. However, we will have volunteers stationed at the dropoff to assist with wayfinding.
By Car
- Ecole Polytechnique Visitors parking located at 48.713971, 2.214638 (GPS position)
- The public car park “Monge” address is 2 rue Jean Pacilly, Palaiseau. See details, including pricing details.
Tips for Using Public Transport
-
Three types of tickets are in use in the Paris area:
- RER/Métro ticket: 2,50 €
- Bus ticket: 2 €
- Airport ticket: 13 €
-
No connection between RER and bus is possible with a single ticket. Two different tickets are needed.
-
Tickets can either be purchased digitally on a smartphone or on a "Navigo Easy" for a 2 € charge for a physical card.
